Let's call it "Starbase 51, in the Pegasus sector"

Pegasus Models' "Area 51 UFO" with three of their "Alpha Centauri UFOs".
Gamescience gaming minis will be docked all around.
The cargo/landing bay will have shuttlecraft on the landing platforms (the balconies) and scoutcraft on the main deck.
The shuttles may be a little oversized, but they're close. At 1/3788 scale, they're roughly 3/32" long.
I still need to make an antenna farm over the green dome, and SOMEthing interesting on the bottom.
 
^^Out of curiosity, how did you make the shuttlecraft? I am guess they are scratchbuilt from scraps, but am interested in the process.

Overall this looks like another winner. Really like the fact that you are including windows to view internals rather than just a plain closed shuttlebay door, hatch or what have you.
 
You know, the Art forum is the only place where a thread titled "Next bash in progress" would turn out to be about something constructive and nice. ;)
 
Arg... First I get the giberish pop up ad (everytime) I go to the Trek Art page. Then I get the same giberish pop up ad when I click on your link... And I close the pop up, and the page to your link doesn't appear. Arg!

However, after a roundabout way of viewing them- This is great stuff! I can not wait to see the final product!

Evergreen brand plastic strip. One rectangular, one round, both very tiny. Chop the rectangular with a razor blade, square on the back, angled on the front. Chop two pieces of the round to length. Place the rod (nacelles) on a piece of masking tape to hold them still. Put a drop of glue on the bottom of the body and set it on top. Voila! Three bits of plastic, six chops and one drop of glue per shuttle.

Hopefully a little painting with a teeny brush will make them look a bit more detailed.

I like the green dome, it looks lovely. :) The nano-shuttles are pretty impressive as well. Should look awesome when finished.

Interesting. I am going to try and get a few of the 1/1000 models to kit bash. I hope to have a shuttle included. The ideas (albeit the size differential) will definitely help. Many thanks and can't wait to see more.

OT - I am trying to find a B-29 model so that I can make a diarama with some pics my grandfather had of a bombing run (he had several, but the ones I will use are a pic of the bombing target pre release and Mt. Fuji for the background). I am having a problem finding a model less than 1/48 to scale (which would put the aircraft at 2 feet long and 3 feet from wingtip to wingtip). Do you happen to know of any that are out there? My hobby shops are limited (small town). Thanks again.
 
www.squadron.com. Go to the search, select aircraft models in the "type" field, and put in B-29. There are a dozen choices in 1/72 and 1/144 scale. The 1/72 Academy kits are very good.
 
This is fantastic. That green dome really gives a unique look to it.

How much do those game miniatures cost?
 
Tanks :). Now I have to make some interesting decals for in there - landing areas, parking spaces, safety zones... windows for the galleries.
 
Somebody suggested a botanical garden under the green dome, so...

With regards to intersting stuff on the bottom - maybe you could stick a long antenna cluster on the bottom or something? Or do the bottom like the Mushroom Starbase or Cloud City?

I like it so far, it's cool. Kinda like a TOS Copernicus Station, except with less 3-D glasses and invading Borg.
