Ran across this gem at YouTube. I wish I could've seen this. Looks pretty damned funny! If anyone here saw this thing live, I'd love to hear your recollections... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2L6gddJm7Q By the way...who is Uhur-U?
It was due to Andy Bray's strong performance as Chekov in this stage performance of "Spock's Brain" that he ended up landing the role of Chekov in our Star Trek New Voyages/Phase II Internet production.
It might have been. Isn't that the Swahili word for "Liberty"? If I recall correctly, they changed the word by changing the U at the end to an A to create the name Uhura.
Man, I tried doing a stage play of Star Trek once, but I could never build the kind of sets these people have because of a budget of $0. Lucky bastards. But I would so go see this. This looks like a great production and I know my sister would want to see it because she'd actually have an excuse to make fun of it. And I think the reporter is the one who gets Uhuras name wrong, not the actors. Get you story right, you moron! Who the heck is playing McCoy? Popeye!
It was a newspaper, published in Montreal in 1969 and 1970. A quick search doesn't turn up a whole lot, but I found a picture: http://www.flickr.com/photos/guuleed/152589704/in/set-72057594115932991/
Hilarious! Reminds me of those "Brady Bunch" stage shows where they do episodes word-for-word from the series.
