Geoff Johns, DC's current preeminent writer, has been brought on as a co-writer for the frequently stalled live action adaptation (of course, what DC film does "frequently stalled" not apply to?) of DC's Captain Marvel (whose name they can't use on his comics as a sort of karmic retribution for suing him into obscurity in the first place).
Johns did a good job with the character when he was writing JSA a few years ago (though it was Black Adam, not Captain Marvel himself, who benefited the most from that run), though he's not done much with that mythos since.
