New Who & Eagles albums.

I heard someone mention the new Who album was well, not so great. & I haven't heard much about the new Eagles release except for the recent interview in Rolling Stone.

Anyway, was curious as sometimes old bands get together & still deliver the goods, & sometimes they barf on their shoes. Curious if there is any sort of consensus view on this one way or the other.

Are you talking about Endless Wire, voggmo? It was The Who's last record but I don't think of it as new as it came out in 2006.

I liked it. It wasn't their best work, but then there really isn't much of a band anymore. Mostly it was a Pete solo record with Daultry vocals. Pete even programmed up the drums, only having a live drummer on a few tracks. Maybe it was about as good a record The Who By Numbers if that helps.

I haven't heard the Eagles record.

Well yes, that would be the one. Thanks for that. By the way, the Eagles story-interview is pretty good. Learned a lot about their history & politics. Joe Walsh mentioned he had no prob with Glen & Don running things. It was not a Democracy & he joined knowing this was how things were.

Endless Wire has a couple of good songs, but isn't anything special. Definitely doesn't have the energy of old Who songs. Mike Post Theme and We Got a Hit are good. Probably some other good ones, but I haven't listened to it in probably close to a year, so I can't remember.

I should pull it out again myself, but there are sooo many records I haven't listened to for a year or more...

For a second there, all I read was the "New Who" in the title and thought this was going to be a Doctor Who thread. Oi.

I have both albums. Endless Wire is pretty weak, but I really like the new Eagles album. Although I do get sick of most Eagles songs after repeated listening.
