New Warriors Vol 1 TPB on sale now

You're not really selling the book well, and why are you selling it at all?

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Classic New Warriors.

I thought you were shilling the recent imprint written by Mister Ekko from Lost.

When did you stop reading the continuing adventures of the new warriors because what's happening with them RIGHT NOW in Avengers: The Initiate for about four seconds before they became the Avengers is quite interesting.

A bunch of books came out at the same time all legended: "Heroes for the 90s"?

What a ridiculous plum to cluster those titles under, given what we know and think of tat period in the world and in comics, Who else was a "hero for the 90s"?

I've got all the originals so no need. I remember enjoying it quite a bit, especially with Mark Bagely's art.

Because I want to draw attention to the TPB. I want it to sell well in the hopes it shows the Powers That Be at Marvel that there is still interest in GOOD Marvel comics of the old school.

NOTHING about Initiative Marvel is in any way shape or form "good". Initiative Marvel is a great big stinking pile of goh-se/felgercarb/bantha poodoo (to keep this post PG).

it was a very GOOD period in Marvel comics. PAD's X-Factor, CC's Excalibur, both Volumes of X-Men, Spider-Man at the top of their game. Good, promising "B-list" titles like New Warriors. All excellent books that sold RINGS around current sales levels (even if you cut a healthy chunk off for "collectors sales").

Maybe you don't need it (I probably don't either), but if it draws the interest of some of these kids that have grown up with Joey Q's botched abortion of Marvel comics and shows them how GOOD comics are done it'll be worth it.

^From all that I have read it makes me glad I quit when I did. Truth be told I kind of wish I had stopped reading before the whole Spider-clone crap.

The inital Clone Saga was pretty straightforward: the "clone" was the real Peter Parker, who survived the incident all that time ago. If they had run the story over all 3-4 Spider books for 3 months and said "Done!" it would have been fine, and a great opportunity to move the books in a new direction without throwing the old stories out the window.

They just kept saying "let's go one more month with it" and it got out of hand.

I have the originals, but I may pick it up for my sons. But you really should just give up. Good comics are over. Have been for a long time. The whole comic industry has changed and so have the taste of the fans. It seems the dumber the idea the more they want to run with it. When I look at all the current storylines it just pains me to no end.

But I have made my peace with it and moved on to my own writing and other things. The new stuff sells and that is the ultimate goal of a company. My kids just read manga instead of USA comics or even better a book.

You've got your actors confused. Kevin Grevioux who wrote NEW WARRIORS, did not play Mr. Ekko on LOST. That was a different actor, whose name I can't spell. Kevin Grevioux plays Raze in the UNDERWORLD movies. He's never appeared on LOST.

Then what about Nova and Darkhawk, what they're doing in War of Kings?

I've read some websites that chronicle the recent run of Nova, and that's NOT Nova, at least any Nova I recognize. Darkhawk is harder to keep up with (there are few and scattered fan sites for him), but the story is STILL mired in the "Ultimate-Marvel but we call it 'Classic Marvel' " universe the Joey Q has destroyed.

Don't Worry, I'm usually wrong about everything.

Greg Cox was formerly the Secretary of the Treasury for the fine country of Uganda.

Sssh! The State Department doesn't know about that yet! :)

Nova had lost his powers and was given power by a resurrected Quasar. That's finishing up soon I think with Nova getting his own back.

He got his origanl powers back already and then kicked the hell out of ego the living world mind to try and get the Corps back in line..

Original New Warriors really was a great book. Great combination of characters, great artwork for most of its run really. Between Mark Bagley and Patrick Zircher and I forgot the guy who did some runs between Bags and Zircher, but they really had a pretty stylish run.

Was kind of fun when they did cross over with X-Force for a few issues, kind of a New Mutant and Hellions reunion, more great artwork in there and it introduced Paige "Husk" Guthrie.

Honestly what can we do to get Tom DeFalco, Mark Bagley and Fabian Nicieza back?

i was more amazed by Darrick Robertsons artwork on the book.

the between era as you put it.

His Speedball was stunning, and his woman were just splendid.

Zircher I always felt was stilted, it was like nothing was candid, and every one was posing inauthentically for his minds eye.

Bagley doesn't or didn't know how to draw fat people. he got a LOT better, and his art in Ultimate Spider-Man was super stellar.

Dark wing, can you "pooh pooh" Penance for me? Your opinion on what has become of Speedball I suspect will be hilarious. :)

Pennance is not Speedball. Never has been, never WILL be. That is NOT the Robbie NW fans knew.

And don't start about the "Nitro incident". The Warriors were too expereinced a team to fuck up THAT badly. It only happened because Joey (Dork Lord of the Suck) Q wanted to kill off some characters he hated and to launch his assinine Civil War story.

Agreed, and what about that his true love being none other than the effervescent Squirrel Girl? You got a problem with them getting busy?
