Interesting, the guy that originaly owned it was pointing it to trekmovie.com the past couple years , looks like Viacom took it from him (they can since it has the tradmarked 'star trek' in the name). Obviously TPTB kow all about trekmovie.com so i wonder if this a move they did to 'indirectly' help trekmovie.com out or not.

I didn't know the url existed until Trekweb mentioned yesterday that it had become home to the official Trek site.

I wouldn't read too much into it. Abrams and Co. obviously have a good relationship with tm.com, I think this was simply a case of shoring up domain ownership.

I meant it would be a good thing for trekmovie.com because it would give they site some more exposure in an indirect sort of way.

trekmovie.com is the best, it is the most reliable for news about trek, even startrek.com doesn't compare!! I love it!
