Only time... (and how much money the film makes) will tell.

I still think TV in general is snobbish about proper outer space drama, leaving it to niché cable/satellite stations like the Sci Fi Channel. Fantasy with enough realism (not to mention relationship melodrama) gets in under the wire. Depends if J.J. Abrams' film suddenly makes it the next big thing... or whether the Trek stigma is too strong - no matter how the cards are reshuffled.

If...if they turn this new movie into a TV show...that'd be weird. What would the logistics of it be in relation to the original show? They show young Kirk and crew on their first mission, OK, then what about when they tread close to times that are shown in the first season?

I don't think that their "Star Trek: The Early Years" really would work in a tv format. A few more movies would be good though.
I would have a problem if they did try to put it on TV, because i don't think they'd be able to do it without stepping on the toes of TOS.

good points,what I meant was a spin off but using the same production design and feel,but sewing the seeds in this new movie to introduce new situations and characters for a possible tv show,miss trek on tv alot
