Welcome to the Family

Can't hurt to at least check out the pilots. I will probably end up watching 2 or 3 of those

I just saw Sleepy Hollow, which had an OK start. The premise looks good enough to keep me interested in the next episode (time travel, the Four Horsemen). My only gripe is that there's hardly any chemistry between the two main characters - Ichabod Crane and Abbie Mills (Tom Mison and Nicole Beharie, respectively). But this was only the first episode; it's too soon to tell what direction the show is going.

Nice to see John Cho. :)

I like what I've seen so far. It is really nice to see so many networks giving sci-fi/fantasy genre shows a run again. Seemed like a long stretch where everything was cop, law, or medical shows. That or 24.

I was missing the 90s when TNG was king and you had the x files, seaquest, space:above and beyond, earth 2, Babylon 5, mantis, the flash, viper, and many more syndicated and lower budget shows on tv.

New Shows:
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D
Brooklyn 99
The Michael J. Fox show

Returning:
Castle
How I Met Your Mother
Once Upon A Time
The Big Bang Theory

Also baseball, football and several cooking shows.

Only returning shows I'm interested in:

Parks & Recreation
Survivor
Amazing Race
Whatever premium network shows have fall premieres this year

New shows:

I'm open minded. Want to hear word of mouth and critic reviews first. I'm not going to camp out on premiere week and watch every interesting show. Blacklist looks like it's going to be another one of those quality episodic procedurals like Person of Interest. I'll check it out.

Plenty of shows have actors I'm interested in but I could care less if they don't have quality writing, and you can't tell quality writing from the promos.

Sleepy Hollow: interesting pilot, I'll keep watching.

Dads: not funny. probably won't keep watching.

Brooklyn 99: shockingly funny! shockingly entertaining! I loved it!

A couple of other shows that I like are currently on hiatus: Being Human on SyFy and MTV's Teen Wolf, which just wrapped up its third season.

Actually, there is one other series I like: SyFy's Defiance, which viewers won't get to see until June of next year.

I saw Brooklyn 99, and I also thought it was funny too (also surprised abot that). I haven't really followed The Office, but doesn't it kinda have that vibe? (I..e people missing the Office can enjoy this show).

Interesting to see how it lasts...but the seemed to set it up pretty good for the season

New Shows that I'll be trying out:

Sleepy Hollow (already watched the premiere, looks like it has potential)
Once Upon a Time in Wonderland
Hostages (not sure about this one)
Lucky 7
Super Fun Night (doesn't look great but I'll give it a chance)
Tomorrow People
Michael J. Fox Show

This is actually a shorter list than usual. Normally I try out most of the new shows, but this year there were a lot of really bad looking comedies and premises that I just have no interest in.

I would list the returning shows but that would take forever. I watch a lot of TV!

I am also looking forward to the new season of American Horror Story. I really liked the first season's storyline, did not like the second season's at all and stopped watching after about 4 episodes, and the new story looks intriguing.

I'll be watching -

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

I'll try

The Tomorrow People
Dracula
Sleepy Hollow

Returning -

Saving Hope

I dumped Arrow part way through season 1, likewise Grimm and Teen Wolf.

Not much interesting at the moment...

I'll be watching...

NEW
Almost Human
Agents of Shield
Blacklist
Tomorrow People

RETURNING
Bones (still not seen all of season 8 yet stored em up)
Castle
Persons of Interest
South Park
Arrow
The Big Bang Theory
Elementary

Thats not including cable shows.

Brooklyn 99 was created by Mike Schur, who was an Executive Producer (and played Mose on screen) on The Office, so I think that's a pretty reasonable observation.

He also created Parks and Rec, and anything even remotely like that show is welcome.

I'm watching the Brooklyn Nine-Nine premiere.

Seems ok. Seems like the sort of show we won't know if it's good for a season or two. Parks & Rec first season sucked and now it's the best comedy on TV.

My first impression of The Blacklist:

Buh. You cast James Spader, give him Hannibal Lecter treatment, and his crime is he sold classified information? You promised me a murdering psychopath!

This show seems well produced as a procedural but if you want to convince me this guy is terrifying give him something to be afraid of in his past. And now the female protagonist is acting neurotic like the woman from Homeland.

I like this topic, I hope to get some more good shows from here!

I actually did a blog post on this subject last week. My list isn't really that long for this fall, and there's only two new shows on it, but I'm open to suggestions.

new shows:
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Almost human

returning:
How I met your mother (Season opening now downloading)
Big Bang Theory
Arrow

Just about to watch "Blacklist" though great to hear it scored just under 12 million and a whopping 3.8 in the 18-49 demo ;)
