Does anyone know anything about this book? https://www.amazon.com/dp/178773864...wuc_kwvz7WyXqODCPGy5PkltsmKcqUBy7GMAKv_Qr881w It could be interesting or it could be a waste of money.
It's from Titan, publisher of the Star Trek magazine. It will probably just compile interview material that was already published in the magazine. Kor
Yeah, those glossy one-time magazines where the cover is just a little stiffer than weekly mags. I remember wanting this one from late 2014 or so, but not buying it: https://www.ebay.com/itm/164759241799 They photoshopped the eyes and Spock's hand to point directly at the camera, and somehow it came off creepy.
Here's a few more. One can be a 'collector' collecting only Trek 'collector's edition' publications...
This is probably what you are referring to. I enjoyed reading it, although it bothered me that there was no context provided for the quotes, which could have been made either months or decades after the events described occurred. There is a 379 page oral history to be published next week: https://trekmovie.com/2023/03/14/th...annel-star-trek-docuseries-arrives-next-week/
Sorry! I have edited the post with correct second link. Here it is again: https://trekmovie.com/2023/03/14/th...annel-star-trek-docuseries-arrives-next-week/ It is based on the History Channel series.
It was actually published in 2021 with a fugly cover. Now that they have better art (for the DVD cover) they're reskinning it and pretending its a new book. I bought it first time around, and it's not great. Neither was the series, for that matter (too many Cash Markman quotes -- unironically proffering him as an "expert" rather than what he is, a fabulist). Maybe they've edited and updated it, but the page count appears to be the same, so they probably haven't.
Good question. I would say since this is non-fiction, and about TOS only (as far as I can tell), I think it's fine here.
