New TMP style Engineering set shown in new Trek xbox game?

Here's the trailer:

And so Star Trek's devolution into a brainless action franchise is complete.

I really hate to think what they're going to do to WoK when they rip it off for the second film(they apparently have few enough original ideas), afterall, today's cinemagoer would be turned off by anything more complex than "lightning storm in space hurr", so I doubt we'll be getting any Shakespeare quotes :ack:

:rommie:What rock have you been under? Trek videogames have been mindless action affairs forever. The drivel on the NES? Sisko prancing about like Super Mario on the SNES? Sisko and Worf doing Tomb Raider on the PC? A security officer gunning down hundreds of aliens under Janeway and Picard's orders in Elite Force 1 and 2? Endless terrible spaceship shooters where blowing up enemy spaceships is the only option?

But, yeah, ignore ALL that and the nuTrek game is wur5t 3vaaaah!!!!1!!

Bridge Commander was hardly brainless.
Neither were 25th Anniversary, Judgment Rites or TNG: A Final Unity or BOTF (and I think Armada 1 can be squeezed in there as well), and let's not forget Klingon/SF Academy.

I think those Trek games were really good.
I also enjoyed EF 1&2 and hardly thought of them as 'brainless'.
Their stories were good.

The new ST game looks much more like Mass Effect.
Let's hope it also carries the RPG elements of ME along with dialog choices that influence the outcomes and some decent puzzles.
