New Timeline TNG

I thought the overall story was interesting until it lost some stream when he connected it with parrels. But I understand what the writer was going far saying the jj Alternate universe ends up Intersecting with the episode parallels.

Though by doing so the author screws up his own continuity, When they show the Feds crushed by the Borg universe's Enterprise it looks like the regular season 1-7 Enterprise-D where as in the fic the ship was refited to look like the alternate future Enterprise-D from All Good Things so basically the ship's third nacell as well as the phaser canon and other goodies just disappears some time in passing five years in the fic with no explanation given (plus I think the JJ verse Galaxy-class would look different then it's Prime universe counterpart.)

Here's the continuation, takes place immedately after the Stargazer was destroyed.

Captain’s personal log Stardate 2366.55. It’s been a long couple of years, but we’ve slogged through it. Enterprise at last is returning to the Terran system, not under her own power however; the USS Yamato had to give us tow. But the victory we sealed should change the entire face of this quadrant for decades to come.

Captain William T. Riker had been waiting for this moment since the day the Enterprise had been flung into the path of that first Borg cube two years ago. It was to believe it had only been two years considering what the Federation and just come through. Upon the Enterprise’s return from the Delta quadrant, they’d been welcome home by a fleet of Borg ships razing worlds across the Federation. Billions had been assimilated, taken away from their homes, their families and turned into weapons against their neighbors.

Starfleet fought back with everything they could muster. Advanced weapons design teams had gone into overdrive when his crew had brought home Doctor Hanson’s research and dozens of weapons had been created to stop the advancing phalanx of Borg.

Finally their chance had come when Data and Geordi had perfected the ultimate weapon that had saved them all. It was so simple that Riker had actually laughed when they’d first proposed it three months ago. An invasive computer program that was actually a paradox of mathematical puzzle that had no solution. Once downloaded into the Collective it would occupy their entire hive resources to solve the unsolvable program. The problem and the deadly trick had been deploying the weapon.

Assault teams had boarded a Borg ship, and a few brave souls had allowed themselves to be assimilated carrying the program stored in nanites embedded in their blood streams. Enterprise had got them board, at the Battle of Rigel where she’d been crippled. It’d been like knocking over dominos as the program spread throughout the Borg fleet, vessels had shut down, drones had collapsed, and victory had been hailed for the Federation and it’s allies.

That had been a month ago. Finally secure enough for travel the Enterprise had been repaired enough to sustain the tractor beam of her sister ship for the long trip back to Earth.

The recovery efforts had been immense. With literally hundreds of Borg ships lying dead in space, Starfleet and her allies and dispatched specialists to separate the drones from the Collective and make an attempt to repatriate them into individual existence. It was a process that would take decades with tens of thousands drones trying to cope with their new found individuality. That on top of the massive recovery of entire worlds that had been assimilated, these were trying times for the Federation and Riker was eager for the challenges ahead.

He looked up to the partially active viewscreen and smiled as Earth came into view. “It’s good to be home,” he muttered.

“Indeed,” Data said from his right. “With the Borg threat elimianted, Starfleet Command will be inclined to return all ships back to our primary mission of exploration.”

“Sounds good to me,” Riker said. “Have you talked to Geordi? What’s his best guess for repair time.”

The first officer didn’t’ need to consult any information as it was all stored within his neural net. “Geordi is optimistic that the repairs should take no more than six weeks. He is requesting, and I support him, to remove the phaser cannon and the third warp nacelle and return Enterprise to standard Galaxy-Class configuration. The power drains and the design flaws that have appeared recently may be indicative of rushed construction and untested trials of the underlying technology.”

“Permission granted,” Riker said. He’d be glad when his ship was reverted back from a ship of war to a ship of peace. “I have a meeting at oh six hundred tomorrow morning with the admiralty, I’ll make my case for it then.”

I don't think that's a good idea. Now the primary story of NeoTNG can move forward... and beyond the confines of the the Borg arc. In other words now the story can Boldly Go. :) Of course that's MY opinion and I am not the author.

That's what I'm going for, a post-borg galaxy... something we all wanted by the time "Descent" came around.

Thank you. While I am a fan of battles in Trek, too often fanfics devolve into Star Trek Wars: The Technobabbling. The new movie proved that Trek works with a strong character drive.

Some conflict is needed to drive the story and to develop the characters but please keep it toned down as you are currently doing. I would hope you handle the Dominion War the same way if you choose to "go there."

In other words: Thanks for the story so far I am quite enjoying it.

If a post-Borg new timeline TNG was what you wanted to write about then you should have started there and given us hints as to the backstory. That way, this story could have been written as a prequel and been filler.

Just my two cents.
