Had anyone tried The Element app Star Trek rooms...? I joined a couple and they're kinda dead...but those are chat rooms too in case anyone interested...and Element is a privacy app so that's a plus

I know this post is old, the last entry being from a few years ago. But if there is still interest, I installed an old-style multi-channel chatroom on my forum (HoloNet Audio also has a forum). It's not getting much use yet, and you need to register for the forum to use it, but it has the potential to be fun / useful.
