New Show on BBC America: Copper

Here is a new show that has me all kinds of intrigued. Its called Copper and its from Barry Levinson and Tom Fontana. It an 1860s Cop Drama, set in NYC and it includes Brass Knuckles, Whores, and Murder.

Looks somewhat interesting. I'll at least check it the first episode. Doesn't have too much in that add to grab me, though.

I'll be honest, I'm frustrated that anyone would do a show set in the 1860s and not make it more about the Civil War! I'm just not that interested in the scruffy lives of Irish immigrants from that era.

I don't get BBC America anyway, so I'll just see what folks have to say about it. Just perusing the character bios, I'd be far more interested in the wartime experiences of the three characters who were in the war, but there's some kind of big "secret" the three of them have, so that suggests flashbacks?
