I was thinking about an idea for a new trek series based around a ship/crew setup but in a different sort of approach.
With all the temoral cold war / time travel and what with enterprise being the 'first' warp 5 ship it got me thinking.
how about a series set aboard the federations first timeship, BUT a proble / twist.
the crew mixed of course take the ship into fed space to a remote system to 'test' the temporal jump engine , maybe take themselves back a few hours or days at a time slow steps so to speak.
however witha ship full of engineers and scientists, and perhaps a sabotour (romulan of course) among the ships crew something goes wrong, the device has been sabotaged and the ships jumps back to say for example the 22nd c.
They initialy would have no idea it had even gone wrong perhaps it could be a few days before they realise, the ship would head back to spacedock only to find things 'wrong' but with records erased, the device sabotaged but not in a way that even looks 'broken' a mainly science based crew and an unknown sabotour among them, plus no-where to? how would the cope and survive?
they cant really go home, as they would change history?
maybe by appearing in the sol system they meet 22nd c starfleet? all possibilities but not as easy to resolve as voyager, and also while there they of course discover a igger darker problem or threat to the galaxy............
