This, of course, means that Bob "Wesley" is another Leslie clone who had survived the odds and been granted a command.

Yeah, they'll find ways of revisiting the past. I'm sure once they've decided they've done all they can with the far-future setting, they'll find a way to bring Discovery back to the 23rd century. The spore drive gives them that kind of flexibility.

I don't know. Given we're basically on a course correction to preserve canon here, I think Disco is likely to stay in the future, with the Section 31 show taking on stewardship of the 23rd century. Since everything there is classified top secret, they don't need to worry about canon there.
