I'm doing another one of those damned Kronos/Unicru online job applications. I've recently run into a question: "What did you like least about this position?" regarding my various previous employers. This is another one where, with regards to the bookstore job I was fired from last year, I'm wondering how honest I should be.
Honestly my answer would be either:
- Management.
- All the good managers got fired or demoted.
- The company's increasingly corporate attitude led to irrational decisions and neglect towards many of its most loyal customers.
Less harsh (and less true, but still somewhat true) answers would include:
- Understaffed.
- Straightening the kids section.
- Slow days with fewer customers.
- The store doesn't carry any new items.
- Store remodeling.
- Constantly clogged toilets. (Actually, I liked this part. There's something refreshingly simple about plunging a toilet. Either it's clogged or it's not. It's not like straightening books, where you always have to ask, "Is it straight enough?"
)
Advice please?
