Re: New Jason & Freddie Movies

I've never seen the Nightmare on Elmstreet movies, but having just watched that trailer Rincewiend posted for the original one, I just want to say that the Freddy-walks-through-the-jail-bars special effect was pretty slick for a movie from 1985.

Re: New Jason & Freddie Movies

I don't think Freddy Vs Jason was meant to be a one time deal. There were plans for a Freddy Vs Jason Vs Ash (Ash being Bruce Campbell's character from the Evil Dead films), but New Line couldn't get the rights to use Ash, although that particular match-up has recently been explored in a comic book series.

There are still plans to go ahead with another Freddy Vs Jason, with New Line (allegedly) trying to get the rights to use Michael Myers. Who knows if that, or any other incarnation of the Freddy Vs Jason idea, will come to fruition though.

I still hope they can get Pinhead in there somehow. (There was an ending for Freddy vs. Jason which would have involved Pinhead breaking up a fight between the two and saying "Gentlemen...what seems to be the problem?")

Re: New Jason & Freddie Movies

I love A Nightmare On Elm Street, and the remake looks polished and sharp. I like that Jackie Earl Haley's take is going to be more menacing and less jokey this time around. If anything I want to see it because of him.

New Line owns Leatherface. That's about it. Other crossovers would cost $$$$.

Ash can't fight them, but Blade could.

When I heard he was being cast, I immediately thought that he'd be the best possible replacement for Robert Englund who (let's face it, NOES fans) ain't getting any younger. Now after having seen both the teaser and the full trailer, I'm feeling rather positive about this particular remake. I could just about go see it theatrically.... if I can get any of my friends to come with. I hate going alone.
