^If it did, I'm now convinced that NASA wouldn't utter a word of it to the public.

there's no way they could keep a lid on it. and no reason to.
except government conspiracy, UFOs snake people chemtrails blah blah blah...

Unfortunately the official NASA Brookings Report of 1960 specifically cited the 1938 radio production "The War of the Worlds" as a potential example of why such information shouldn't be revealed to the public, and that continuing study would be required as the populace evolves and matures in the future, becoming potentially more "open" to the notion. The mass hysteria that ensued gave a pretty clear picture, at least back then, that we weren't ready for it. In the continued age of mass-quantity secrecy in the Cold War era, and perpetuated to laughably profound levels in the post-9/11 era, and if they do exist, we will likely never get full admission of extraterrestrial existence until a Grey actually lands in the Rose Garden of the White House, or on the roof of the U.N. in his/her/its spaceship, and tells us, "HI! We're here! And y'all fucked up!"

And nice pic, BTW! :techman:
