I read the book, and though I don't like Brown's writing the story was ok. Since I don't read much I might as well see a movie from which I read the book. :)

A couple of observations:

1. They toned down Hanks' haircut from the last film
2. Despite the book's timeline this is a sequel not a prequel... though i gather the that it's not essential to see the first one.
3. It looks like the CERN section has been given the short shrift. It was described in detail in the book, but I think the movies screenplay will have them in Rome almost immediately. What a shame.
4. I always thought Patrick Stewart would be ideal for Kohler. I don't even know if the character is in the film.
5. I thought the book dragged near the end, with much too much paid to what is McGregor's character. The never even gave the character a name in the book despite how important he was to the wtwist in teh story. I hated the way Brown wrote the character

Carlo Ventresca.

It certainly seems like a sequel, which is interesting, since they're going with a different love interest (Eric Bana's wife in Munich).

A&D is full of the usual Brown stuff, but it's got a more dramatic plot than TDC, so it'll probably be a better movie.

To bad about CERN being lost, I liked that bit. But still looks to be a pretty decent adaptation of the book, and I like Angels & Demons a lot better then DaVinci Code.

That actually looks about ten times more exciting than The Da Vinci Code, which was pretty much true for the books, too.

I'm looking forward to seeing the movie although I would have preferred to see this before The Da Vinci Code but understand that they were probably under pressure to make it first considering all the hub bub that was going on at the time over it. Angels and Demons is a better story and better book. I hate that they're making this a sequel...just because of Vittoria being the love interest after Sophia from The Da Vinci Code, it is going to be weird to see everything in reverse chronological order. I'm curious to see how they incoerpate the changes.
