Wow--leaps and bounds is clearly the way fan productions are made one after the other--and such is the case with Starship Farragut on their second adventure.
I enjoyed the locations and the scenery. The performances have all been wratcheted up several notches and no doubt they will continue in a positive direction. These characters are so well developed that its easy to appreciate the performances we've already seen, because the characters are so easy to like and feel comfortable with.
The story is incredible and, being a history buff, there was more than one scene that gave me chills. Being a Star Trek fan, the ending will, no doubt, send chills through all Trekdom--simply awesome and so believable.
The cinematography is also several notches above where it was in "The Captaincy" and where the first episode had washout lighting on the bridge scenes, this is darker--too dark in places, but its clear to see they're on the right track. I expect we'll see improvement in this area as well in their coming multi-part adventure: "Fathers and Sons."
The music has taken some real leaps too. The variation on Joe Seguin's theme is now regal, richly drawn and has a fuller bodied sound. The variations make it more sophisticated. Hats off to Hetoreyn for taking something familiar and richly wrapping it up and delivering it in such a lushly textured way.
All in all, a superb effort that shows the skill and experience the Farragut team is storing up.
Warp speed ahead gang!
Cheers--
