New Canon "Alien" Book Series

I always thought ALIEN fit in well with the Earth of BLADERUNNER--same feel...same replicants even, except for the blood.

Funny you should say that. I'm currently playing Alien: Isolation and decided to pick up the first movie. While watching I felt like this could be in the same universe as both Blade Runner and Outland. Maybe with Outland taking place before extra solar travel.

Well you could say that about a bunch of sci-fi movies that feature similar themes and scenarios. For example: the likes of 'Saturn 3', 'Robocop' & 'Silent Running' spring to mind. Hell you could probably also cram in 'Westworld', 'Appleseed' & 'Ghost in the Shell' without too much trouble. And those are just off the top of my head.

The difference here is that both Blade Runner & Alien were directed by Ridley Scott and he's often stated he considers them both to be in continuity with each other. Not sure if he thought so back when he filmed Blade Runner though.

Side note: 'Soldier' was apparently filmed with an eye towards it being in-continuity with Blade Runner. IIRC most of that consisted of name dropping Tenhauser Gate and having a wrecked spinner visible in a junkheap.
