New 2-minute G.I. Joe trailer

Flying Spaghetti Monster

Vice Admiral
Admiral
is at www.myspace.com/trailerpark. It only worked on IE for me. Firefox stops around 1:40

Anyway, I'm still gonna see it because I am a fan of the series, and I like the girl playing Scarlett. also Quaid looks good as does the Baroness.

Looking forward to Snake Eyes.

That said, the film looks hokey. A lot of underwater stuff, huge underwater base. also these accelerator suits are ridiculous!

I would strongly advise against anyone clicking on that link and watching that trailer.

It infected my computer with the WinPC Antivirus trojan.

also these accelerator suits are ridiculous!

Wasn't Iron Man, like, the biggest hit of last year?

Yes, because Iron Man is supposed to be a guy in computerized armor. GIJoe is supposed be guys with guns and vehicles. They are not supposed to dress like Batman, wear armor like Iron Man and jump around like fucking Spider-Man.

And they shot the Eiffel Tower with some kind of super corrosive? Couldn't you just use plain old explosives at the base and achieve the same result?:rolleyes:

I dunno. If I see this movie at all - and it becomes a bigger and bigger "IF" every time I see some footage of it - it would be to see Chris Eccleston try to salvage some kind of dignity from starring in it. I liked him as the Doctor, so I'm curious to see his Destro. 'Course, his presence in the show couldn't make me sit through Heroes, so we'll see.

imagine if Michael Bay and Steven Sommers had switched projects. We would have gotten Transformers by the director that brought us The Mummy and perhaps ended up like a live action GoBots. and GI Joe would have been well probably a lot like The Rock

Hmm..the film looks, according to this new trailer, fairly boring:vulcan:
The first teaser was better.
I just hope that the trailer is just bad and not the film, thoug I do have serious fears allready:wtf:
I think they should have stayed closer to the source material. I mean i loved the comics but this looks indeed like just a mix of previous comic book films, done badly...

Watched the trailer.

Looks like forgetable crap to me.

It'll probably do $600m.

I dunno just looked hokey and dumb. Like the "Street Fighter" movies or something.

And "accelerator suits."

Or "suits that're easier to CGI than human beings for effects sequences."

Find it kind of funny that they cut to the Pyramids after "From the director of the Mummy".

Between this and Transformers 2, it looks like Egypt is a popular destination for toy-based action flicks.

1:40 in I Xed out. Looks like another CGI, poorly written piece of shit. Replete with unecessary tight suited woman and showy battles.

What the hell is wrong with women in tight suits and showy battles? If the plot is interesting or at least entertaining, what is wrong with paying ten bucks to shut your brain off for a couple of hours? Does a lot of SFX preclude a decent story and characters? So many movies come out every year I don't see the need for all of them to be the best movie that has ever existed in its genre. And that seems to be the standard these days: it's either a GREAT movie or it's a piece of shit, all people do on the Internet is whine about how terrible things are because they don't match up perfectly with some kind of unreachable ideal. Not every movie can be "Heat" or "Die Hard". If you don't want to see it that's fine, but you're telling me it's poorly written after seeing a minute and a half of a trailer. Perfect example of the mentality I'm talking about. What's wrong with waiting until some people you know see it or at least a review before judging it as a "piece of shit?"

you mean, you expect people to actually be reasonable?!?!?! What kind of sick freak are you?!

don't you know it's everyone's job to write everything off as soon as it's announced and scream bloody murder about it on the internet?

I'm going to go against the trend of this thread and say this looks like a fun movie. It looks over the top and that's just how I'd expect a GI Joe movie to be.

Ugh.

Would have been an okay trailer if they left out the "accelerator suits." But even if you ignore that the movie looks, at best, uninspired and cheesy. The Baroness will doubtlessly be great (it's pretty hard to fuck her up), but the G. I. Joes themselves look like they're going to be the worst part of the flick. Especially if you stop ignoring the "accelerator suits" (could they not think of a better name than that?).

I don't understand all the hate, but I was never into GI Joe. This movie looks like it might be fun.
