Never Used Generations Uniforms

In a Generations Movie thread I mentioned these, many did not seem to have heard of or seen them, I said I'd try to find them and could not, earlier I sumbled upon a link by accident.
So here they are:

I still have some of the accidentally made action figures from these in my attick.

With the upgraded bridge, destroying the ship etc they apparently feard introducing too many changes.
That shows they low capacity they think the audience has mentally.

"what..new uniforms...im so confused...." (nose bleed)

There was also some penny pinching I think, since some of the uniforms such as those worn by Frakes were borrowd from DS9 and didn't fit right hence why he rolled the sleves up so much

I still like the black/grey uniforms better. They are closer to actual military use of color. I always thought there was too much color used in the TOS/TNG uniforms. The black/grey makes more sense to me. Even the TWOK uniforms (which I also like) are more like actual military uniforms.
The word uniform can be summed up as UNI-fied in FORM. I know many may disagree, but that's just how the military really is.
At first, with Technicolor being new, I could understand why they did it in TOS. But we have had color long enough now that it is not new any more.

Actually if you buy into the "starfleet is a military organization" opinion those ones and the TNG ones suit that theory more.
If you buy into the idea they're more like NASA then the latest uniforms the jumpsuits are more practical

The space station, star ship diffrence wouldn't be much diffrent to the diffrent army uniforms depending on their envionrments, eg desert and green camo

The uniform arrangement seemed a bit inverse from what I see the uniforms being derived from. The DS9/VOY uniforms looked to be inspired by the blue jumpsuits wore at sea by naval personnel, while the S3-7 TNG uniforms were more akin to the khaki uniforms with ribbons worn ashore or the white uniform (not the choker whites, but the collared shirt).

The best thing about the FC black-and-grays is that they were more like actual clothes in that they had layers. You could take off the jacket and the vest and unzip the turtleneck. We really should have seen more of this when folks were off-duty. It was kind of crazy that everyone always had their uniforms zipped up to their neck, even when they were just hanging out at Quarks.

More to the point, hanging in Quarks or Ten Forward they were all in their uniforms at all! Not civilian stuff

Had they kept those never used uniforms I think they would have been used in Voyager.

I always thought the DS9/VOY uniforms looked a bit too plain, but if they were designed the same way as the black/grey uniforms with the layers and have the top carpeted they would have been alot better.

I'm really quite glad they didn't make the change in uniform. It probably would have been very difficult to get all of the extras decked out in the GEN unis when Sisko and company headed to Earth or whenever a visiting starship come aboard. Thus, we likely would have seen people wearing the GEN unis, the DS9 jumpsuit and the TNG S3-7 unis in the same environment. That would have been just plain weird.

Another vote for the FC/DS9 black and greys. They have more of a serious military look, and generally just look more elegant. The original colorful TOS uniforms were invented simply to promote the sale of color TVs, which were new in the 60s. Why should something so far removed from the present influence Star Trek design now?

The Grey/Black uniforms with minimal, toned down dept. colours really suited DS9, especially during the war.

But I kind of wish they'd gone with the original Generations ones. There's nothing to say, starbase/station personale like those on DS9 would've inherited them.

The uniforms used for Gen, half of DS9 and all of VOY really do look like pyjamas. So not really a fan of those over here.

As I understand it, they were filming Geordi's interrogation scene with Soran, when they made the final decision. I've never really heard a definitive reason. Could be cinematography or just impractable during all that hot desert location filming.
