networks' fall schedule 2010-11

Temis the Vorta

Fleet Admiral
Admiral
See anything ya like?

For me:

Monday
8pm - Chuck
9pm - The Event

Tuesday
8pm - No Ordinary Family

Wednesday
9pm - Hellcats (for Ben Browder's scenes anyway)

Thursday-Sunday
nada (leaving plenty of time for Caprica, Dexter and whatever else cable might offer)

Looks like the networks are making it very easy for me not to waste too much time on TV. :rommie: How considerate of them!

The Event sounds interesting. Nothing else really appealed to me. Guess I'll be sticking with cable for the most part.

I don't live in the US, but the shows I'll be following broken down by their US schedule are:

Monday

Chuck (NBC)
The Event (NBC)
Lonestar (Fox)

And maybe Hawaii Five-O (CBS).

Tuesday

No Ordinary Family (ABC)
Running Wilde (Fox)

Wednesday

Modern Family (ABC)
Survivor (CBS)
Undercovers (NBC)

And maybe Hellcats (CW) depending on the ratio of hot girls to crappy writing.

Thursday

Fringe (Fox)
Nikita (CW)
The Vampire Diaries (CW)

And maybe My Generation (ABC).

Friday

Human Target (Fox)
Medium (CBS)
Smallville (CW)
Supernatural (CW)

And maybe Blue Bloods (ABC).

Sunday

The Amazing Race (CBS)

I've nearly given up on TV as a whole. I got rid of cable and I don't have a digital converter box, so the only thing I get when I turn my TV on is static. The only shows that I genuinely care about are either available online to stream (via Hulu), or I will watch it by alternative means (DVD, go to a friend's house, find it online...uh... elsewhere...).

I'm currently only invested in:
Lost - about to end its run in a few days
Caprica - on hiatus until Fall; will watch online
True Blood - will watch via alternative means
Dexter - will watch via alternative means
Friday Night Lights - will probably wait for the DVD (I want to rewatch the first 3 seasons before jumping into season 4 anyway)

I've abandoned other shows that I used to care about, such as Family Guy and Grey's Anatomy. I watched a few episodes of Parenthood online when it premiered, but it didn't excite me enough to keep watching.

This likely leads me to think that I won't be trying any of the new programs that are coming out this fall. I will probably focus on re-watching old shows on DVD that I already own and haven't seen for a while, or will check out other shows that I haven't seen via Netflix.

Not much new I'm excited about but plenty of things to try once and drop...

M: 8 Mother & Rules vs. Chuck, 9 2.5 Men & Mike Molly vs. The Event (NBC), 10 Castle vs. Hawaii 5-0 (CBS)
Tu: 8 No Ordinary Family (ABC) vs. Glee, 9 Raising Hope & Running Wilde (FOX)
W: 8 Undercovers (NBC), 930 Cougar Town
Th: 8 Community & 30 Rock vs. vs. Big Bang & Dad Says vs. Bones, 9 Office & Outsourced vs. Fringe
F: 8 Human Target
Sun: 8 Simpsons & Cleveland, 9 Family Guy & Am Dad
Midseason: Terra Nova (FOX), “V”

The only new show I'm interested in this fall is No Ordinary Family, which will probably be lame. Terra Nova will hopefully be cool but that's not til Midseason!

Sunday:
"American Dad" (as I feel moved to do so)

Monday:
Nothing.

Tuesday:
Nothing.

Wednesday:
Nothing.

Thursday:
Nothing.

Friday:
Nothing.

Saturday:
Nothing.

Most my viewing is NOT on any of the old networks. In fact, the overwhelming vast majority isn't on them.

I'm really trying to get rid of a lot of shows this season. Unfortunately, a few new shows popped up that interested me.

Sunday
The Amazing Race

Monday
Chuck*
How I Met Your Mother**
THE EVENT

Tuesday
Glee

Wednesday
UNDERCOVERS
Survivor
Modern Family

Thursday
Community
30 Rock
The Office**
Fringe

Not Sure Where on Schedule:
Psych

Shows off of my schedule:
Lost, Flashforward, V, Caprica, Stargate Universe, Mad Men

* I will be surprised if next year isn't the last for Chuck.

** These shows are on notice. Meaning if they continue to drop in quality, they're off my schedule. Particularly The Office. Its frustrating to see how a once-great show has just become not funny.

Monday: Chuck, How I Met Your Mother, House, (Hawaii Five-O)
Tuesday: NCIS, Glee, (Detroit 187)
Wednesday: (Undercovers), Criminal Minds, (Law & Order: LA), (The Whole Truth)
Thursday: The Big Bang Theory, CSI, The Office, Fringe

I'll try the new stuff in parenthesis... probably won't like all of them.

If I was American:

Monday: House
Tuesday: Errrrr ? :borg:
Wednesday: Errrrrrrr ? :wtf:
Thursday: Errrrrrrrrrrrrrr ? :cardie:
Friday: Smallville

Monday

Nothing I'll go out of my way to watch, but Castle is alright and I might try Hawaii Five-O. I will miss 24. :(

Tuesday

Nothing. I will miss Lost. :(

Wednesday

Probably nothing, though I might try L&O: LA if they bring back an interesting character from a previous show. I guess Modern Family is also okay.

Thursday

30 Rock
The Office
Fringe

Only night with stuff I actually want to watch and their times conflict, of course...

Friday

Nothing.

Saturday

Nothing.

Sunday

Nothing I'll go out of my way too watch, but I'll probably tune into Family Guy sporadically.

I watch way too much TV, usually. Had to get a 2nd DVR :)

Anyway, my schedule:

Monday:
HIMYM
Chuck
2.5 Men
House
90210 (used to watch, but lowest priority at 8pm, so would drop it)
Castle
Hawaii 5-0
The Event?

Tuesday:
No Ordinary Family?

Wednesday:
Modern Family
Cougar Town

Thursday:
TBBT
Bones
30 Rock
The Office
Grey's Anatomy
Private Practice
Outsourced?

Friday:
Human Target
Smallville
The Good Guys?

Saturday:
Nothing (glad the CW stopped carrying Legend of the Seeker in favor of "TBA" :( )

Sunday:
American Dad
Family Guy

Of the fall new shows, No Ordinary Family (because of the cast, primarily,) The Whole Truth (maybe very innovative or maybe more gimmicky, like The Evidence a while back,) The Event (because of Jason Ritter, serialized stories are usually crap,) and possibly The Defenders (CBS dramas are usually better written.)

Big Bang Theory, CSI, The Mentalist and Brothers & Sisters are all that remain for old shows.

But I look at that schedule and see practically everything loaded onto Thursday night. Three hours of television is a brute.

Monday:
House

Tuesday:
Glee

Wednesday:

Thursday:
The Vampire Diaries
The Office

Friday:

Saturday:

Sunday:
American Dad
Family Guy

Cable Shows:
Dexter
True Blood
Degrassi TNG
Caprica

Once House and The Office (hopefully) end after next season I will have very little television left to watch. Network TV is very rarely as good as Cable TV these days. Cancellling Dollhouse and Heroes was a kind of breaking point for me. :/

Last edited:
I'm off the hook for Hellcats! CW finally took a look at Ben Browder's drivers' license and gave him the boot. Now he can get himself into a real TV series, not teenybopper crap.

I really doubt I will watch any of the new shows.

Right now my plan is to watch:

Sunday: Nuthin' (Cold Case canceled - not surprised, but disappointed - like that show)

Monday: Castle (thank God for Nathan Fillion or the fall schedule would be pretty doggone bleak)

Tuesday (in a world without LOST :( ): NCIS (might give NCIS:LA another try since I now will have nothing better to do with LOST's time spot and Chris O'Donnell is...well...Chris O'Donnell).

Wednesday: More Nuthin', although I might actually start watching L&O:SVU. It is the only L&O show I've liked even a little bit since the Brisco/Curtis team split up back in the late 1800's or something :p - even if SVU is getting stale, Chris Meloni and Mariska Hargitay are awesome. Besides, I want to be right on hand if they ever finally let Stabler go totally postal. Meloni does 'right on the verge of completely unraveling' so well that they have had this poor guy there for about 8 years. I'm ready for the melt-down. :techman:

Thursday: Bones (even though this show is getting more than a bit stale - it has gotten progressively stupider since that whole Zach Addy incident a couple of seasons ago - , I still can not resist David Boreanaz, especially given the fact that there is so little else on TV that I am interested in)

Friday: Even More Nuthin' (although I assume I will at least have Caprica at some point. It's no BSG, but it's watchable...unlike Stargate: Universe, which is about a bazillion times worse that Atlantis EVER approached in it's worst moment, and does not even have Joe Flanigan in the cast to....erm...'distract' me.)

Saturday: Yet Another Heaping Plate Full of Nuthin'. Although I guess at some point there will be nuWho. I'm working at warming up to nuWho with nuDoctor, I'm still in mourning for David Tennant and will likely be so for some time. Most adorable nerd EVER. The new kid is good...but he's not Tennant. And I've got the worst possible nerdcrush on Tennant.

On DVD: I watch Dexter one season behind. But since there are only a handful of episodes in a season, it takes me barely a week to get through them. If things get really grim with the new Fall season, I might go out and buy True Blood and see what's up with that.

This is only network shows I plan on watching/giving a try. I'm sure the list will get smaller as I won't like some of the new shows and maybe give up on returnign shows like I did with the two CSI's recently. There are cable shows I will watch as well. :>)) What can I say I'm a tv junkie with two DVR's. LOL

Losing Lost is a big one. 24 to a certain degree too. Network shows I will watch...

Friday Night Lights, Human Target, Smallville, and now Fringe. Also plan to check out new shows Breakout Kings and The Cape.

On basic cable there's Caprica and I want to catch up on Justified. On HBO, Curb Your Entusiasm will be coming back and I want to check out that HBO show Luck.

Monday - How I Met Your Mother, Castle
Tuesday - Biggest Loser
Wednesday - nothing
Thursday - The Office - unless it continues to suck.
Friday - Stargate Universe
Saturday - nothing
Sunday - The Amazing Race
