Netflix: Star Trek to Be Available for Instant Streaming!

Starting in April:

Episodes from the original "Hawaii Five-0" are included in the package, as are episodes from all generations of the definitive sci-fi series, "Star Trek," and the cult favorite, "Twin Peaks." Installments of '60s classics, "The Twilight Zone" and "The Andy Griffith Show," will be available as well.

I believe they'll have TOS, TAS, TNG, DS9, VOY & ENT available. Like Tallguy said, they currently only have STXI up right now, but I figure it's in anticipation of striking a deal with Paramount to get all the movies up again. We'll have to wait and see on that one.

Yep. When I was showing the features of my Roku box on Youtube, Netflix had TOS S1 on streaming and I used it as an example at the time.

This is great. There are still several episodes of TNG and DS9 I haven't seen.

I think I read online that the deal is for two years. Should be plenty of time to watch every episode of Star Trek.

I'm happy to hear this. While I own all seasons of TNG and DS9 on DVD, I only have a couple select seasons of VOY and none of ENT. I'm not particularly interested in owning them, either, as I find them to be the weakest and least consistent of the series. However, there are certain VOY and ENT episodes that I enjoyed and wouldn't mind watching again.

This is something Netflix will not have for another 2 months or so.

the standard definition streaming for Next Generation and Voyager looks a little better on Netflix (at least for now)

I could never get through 15 min of Netflix streaming without bandwidth issues. Was really glad when Netflix seperated the streaming and DVD service. I immediately dropped streaming.

Amazon streaming is working out so far. Not as many bandwith issues causing pausing for me.

Sure it's not the device your using? My wife's laptop and our PS3 runs Netflix without issue, while our daughter's laptop (which is the newest of the three surprisingly) chokes on Netflix HD content.

How're the visuals on DS9 and VOY? I'm planning on re-watching those two.

^ Netflix's rights to stream DS9 don't start until some point in October, but I recently watched all of VOY via Instant Watch and it looked just fine.

I've been watching Voyager on my PS3 and computer and everything works just fine for me.

I just noticed the animated series is now on Netflix Instant. That wasn't there before was it?

They added that a few weeks ago, so yeah, it's recent. And in two weeks, DS9!
