Could go here, could go in Future of Trek. I chose here because I like movies.

From Observer:

https://observer.com/2018/11/netfli...i-picture-film-deal-transformers-cloverfield/

Wehile no specific properties were mentioned on the call, the deal would seem to provide Netflix with access to valuable IP such as Transformers, Star Trek, Cloverfield and more.

(Emphasis added.)

So what do you think? Netflix exclusive Star Trek movie, maybe? I'd love that if it happened. Help make my Netflix subscription worth it.

Cloverfield Paradox surprised everyone by appearing on Netflix. I'd definitely watch Netflix Trek movies... but I can't see CBS allowing Trek on their (US) competition.

Netflix on the other hand, would likely LOVE more Trek.

Sounds very promising. Anything Trek seems to be very popular on Netflix so Paramount can produce Trek movies with a safety net in place ie not lose any money.

My hopes for kelvinverse TNG reboot just got closer!

I would like one more Kelvin Timeline crew film to go out with an epic bang, then I'd be cool with other Star Trek stories yet untold/thought of. Beyond left it with a "eh, not bad" but I want it to go out with "now that's how you do a finale!"

I wouldn't mind Netflix-exclusive Trek movies. I just hope that it wouldn't be gratuitously "dark and gritty" like so much Netflix content seems to be, seemingly just to take advantage of being on a subscription platform instead of broadcast TV.

Beyond was a cool Star Trek story. I'm still trying to decide if it made a good Star Trek movie, though.

They got it right with Lost In Space, though. If that's an indication...they could probably do Trek ok.
