Netflix Doctor Who Viewing Order

See http://www.gallifreyone.com/epguide.php for viewing order of all the classic series episodes.

Clicking on an individual title will bring up synopsis, production notes and other info. Then, on the left pane if you click on "Story Review" you will get reviews by multiple people for each story.

These are the Classic Doctor Who that Netlix have on the Instant Watch. I have never watched any old Doctor Who before so I'd like to know a few things. Which episodes suck? I don't want to start on a bad note. Which one is the best? And what is the viewing order, if any, I should watch them in? I already know the Key of Time episode order.

Hmmm...that's a loaded question. Where to start? How to watch them? Do you want chronologically? Because, the first one you have available may not be as good as a future one. What about which Doctor? Depends on who you like, and why.

If it helps, here would be my personal viewing order from the ones you listed. It's at least one from each Doctor. After you've seen those, you can decide on which era/Doctor you want to pursure further...

This will give you a broad overview of the show (sans Daleks), and the different eras represented. Naturally, there are more 4th Doctor selections because his era is generally considered one of the 'Golden Ages' of the series, and has some truly classic stories that have helped define Doctor Who ever since.

Hope you enjoy! :techman:

From all those listed, I've only seen The Aztecs, yet. I did quite enjoy it, but the slow pacing of the early Doctors isn't for everyone. Too bad they don't have The Dalek Invasion of Earth or The Keys of Marinus or The Sensorites from the 1st Doctor's era. I personally liked them even better.

Meh, you'd think they'd at least have An Unearthly Child and The Daleks on their selection.

The's list is pretty good, though I'd add

The Pyramids of Mars (4th Doctor, before Robots) to the list.

And probably Horror of Fang Rock (4th Doctor, after Robots), and The Three Doctors (3rd Doctor, after Spearhead).

I'd agree (especially with The Daleks), but let's be honest here: the first episode of Unearthly Child is our wonderful introduction to the series, while the rest of the episodes are just a lot of British actors running around in fur rugs... ;)

And (brace yourself EMH) but I think Pyramids of Mars and Horror of Fang Rock are highly overrated. Just me.

Thanks everyone. Oddly enough the one I watched was The Pyramids of Mars and I did find the pasing to be incredable slow, but otherwise liked it. There was no reason that couldn't have been 2 parts, or only 45-50 minutes, 1:35 was too long. That's an awesome site Pike, thanks. I don't get the disc because I'm cheap. Netflix is my mom's, I just use the Instant View part. :D

They do have those available and a lot more. The OP is just talking about the instant viewing on your computer selections. You can get An Unearthly Child and The Daleks through their regular service as well as several pages worth of other Who episodes.

Ah. Thanks for clearing that up Starfleet. :)

Oh dear, and Pyramids was one of the more energetic episodes too. Glad it wasn't a dealbreaker though.
But I would suggest you stock up on the caffine though, since if you're used to the current series you might find classic Who a bit slow going. At least til you get used to it. The storytelling style of the classic series is a whole different animal compared to the current batch.

Ah thanks! I first saw the term over at Outpost Gallifrey, and I never could quite work out what it stood for, even though I realized what and who it referred to... :techman:
