Nero's "unexpected encounter" (Nero comic spoiler)

Am I the only one who thinks "Nero's Unexpected Encounter" sounds vaguely like the title of a slash-fiction piece?

Ayel entered Nero's quarters early in the morning to give the captain the daily report. Nero, just gotten out of the shower, was only wearing a skimpy towel. Ayel was startled by his captain's partial nakedness, but felt strangely at ease. Nero gently took the report from Ayel's hand...

Hmm...I think I missed my calling. :p

Bought the issue yesterday. Wow, I never expected this meeting, but I thought it was cool to see V'Ger again. And yeah, I'm wondering when those 47 Klingon ships are gonna show up.

So anyone want to post how V'ger and Nero's meating goes in spoiler tags?

Yeah, c'mon, spoil us, already.

Noone is destroyed and no battle is fought.

To quote a few of Nero's lines :

"Ayel's voice fades. I hear only the entity. Filling my mind with numbers, coordinates, distances...I can feel it trying to assimilate me.
In this timeline it has not met Spock yet. Perhaps it never will."

"But I use its massive intelligence to calculate what Clavell could not. Where and when Spock will appear again"

"I have what I need.It tried to join with me but there is one thing it can never assimilate. My hate."

Then they beam back to the Narada and Nero sets a course out of V'Ger and to wherever Spock will emerge from the black hole.

You know, Countdown was bad enough with all the fanwankery they threw in there, but this takes all that, magnifies it ten-fold. Sweet fuck, why not have Nero deal with the other threats from TOS? The Doomsday Machine, the Whale Probe, and so on in that order.

Nero- Let's go track down the SS botany bay.........

Ayel- and Gorn!

Nero- Yes, and Gorn -_-

At this point, Gorgan appears on the Narada bridge.

Nero: "Dude, what the hell are you?"
Gorgan: "I'm Gorgan. I make kids murder their parents."
Nero: "That's just...terrible."

Will this comic prequel also explain how the "penguin dress-greys" from TMP wound up in this new universe? I want an explanation as to how Pike was wearing a set at the end of the movie.

BTW, I'm damn glad the greys are back.

But only those. The rest of the pajama uniforms can go in the trash.
