Need Help! Over thinking a solution.

I think I'm over thinking the solution and its driving me MAD!!!

I have this canopy on my Pulse Motorcycle pictured below. It slides open front to back like a drawer and actually has drawer slides on it. The problem I'm having is, the ball bearings and drawer slide falls apart after a week. Even heavy duty ones.

I went to the hardware store today to look at some solutions and thought of PVC pipe inside PVC pipe to slide back and fourth but if I did that I'd need a way to sercurely fasten the canopy in place without it sliding all the way back or forward down the highway. without shaking itself apart.

Am I over thinking the solution? Or is this just ridiculous?

Does it fly? Looks cool. You might want to take it to a body shop that specializes in motorcycles.

A hook and eyelet mounted on the inside would keep it from opening. Not sure about how much it would vibrate though.

What do they use on the sliding doors for cars? Would it be possible to replicate something like that?
