I think I watched Forrest Gump after watching some Australian show and it clicked or something.
I wonder what Canadians would sound like to you then? Northern Americans with a touch of Southern American?![]()
To be honest I actually can't tell the difference between Canadian accents and middle of the road American accents. Saying that I know that some people from overseas can't tell the difference between Australian and new Zealand accents.
This is a special episode, aired on a Thursday night in February 2001. NBC wanted to combat the "Survivor" ratings, so a 40 minute "Friends" was made and then Saturday Night Live went live at 8:40pm for two consecutive Thursdays. Sadly, the effort was unsuccessful.
Dubbed "TV's funniest and most influential political player" by Entertainment Weekly, "SNL" expands its "Weekend Update" coverage to Thursdays in primetime for three live half-hour shows beginning October 16. With all of the excitement and attention around "Saturday Night Live" during the presidential primaries, the anticipation for the show's take on this Fall's election will be at a fever pitch, "SNL Thursday Night Live" will keep the momentum -- and the laughs -- going. The program is a production of Broadway Video in association with SNL Studios. Lorne Michaels is the executive producer.
Why don't they just kill SNL? It had a good, run, time to let it go.

I must say, Peter Jackson sounds the same as... some other random Australian person I can't name right now.
I guess the closer regional things are harder to notice. Even then, I'm only starting to notice that "aboot" thing over here...
Kath & Kim? A remake, or are they showing the original Australian show? (Considering US TV's aversion to anything non-homegrown, the former seems more likely.)
Im guessing now that ER is confirmed for its 15th season????
Cinema Blend apparently has had reports that this spinoff will not feature any of the regular cast of The Office.Hopefully all of the Office characters will stay on The Office and the spinoff will be a similar documentary type of show set in some other industry.
That's pretty funny. I vote for The Young Creed Bratton Chronicles.Meanwhile, E! Online reports that, while this spinoff may have been given a greenlight, it does not have a premise.
The weekend update format may work."Thursday Night Live" is a retread of something NBC tried back in 2001:
