Nathan Fillion's "Uncharted" Fan Film

I'm assuming this film is like a "spec" film created to drum up interest from a major studio. I loved playing Uncharted and, like others, have always seen Fillion in the role of Nathan Drake, this film doesn't change my mind about that, but I don't feel nearly as excited as I did after watching the Deadpool short a few years ago. But I would still love to see a full length Uncharted with Fillion, get made.

I'm not really familiar with the source material, but I saw this article on the Star today, and hey, it's Nathan Fillion, so when I saw your thread, I figured I'd just throw it out there in case anyone was interested.

Stephen Lang as Sully, seems a bit too old.

I didn't think he was too old necessarily but he's not a great match for the Sully of the games IMO.

Absolutely no experience with the games (though I have a few of the soundtracks).

I thought it was ok and from what I'd seen, thought Nathan Fillion would do ok in a film version.

Yeah, agreed. This version of Sully wasn't quite right. He was less warm and feeling less like a mentor. In the games he was somewhat like a father figure to Drake. I'd always pictured Micheal Caine, but he's also too old. Another suggestion I've seen somewhere was Tom Skerritt.

But overall, they really captured the spirit of the games, even down to the moment with the gunfight where it switches to behind Drake.

I'm thinking if the Indiana Jones franchise never gets off the ground again, Uncharted might be a good chance to get another pulpy action-adventure franchise onto the screen.

And hey, Harrison Ford likes Uncharted. In a Japanese promo for Uncharted 3, they had him playing the game and commenting on it:
