Natalie Wood's death investigation re-opened

Whats funny, all these years it was my believed, my theory that the Captain of the boat was the one that killed her.

Thirty years after the event, the LAPD has re-opened the investigation into Natalie Wood's death.
LASD, the Sheriff's Department actually, the death occurred outside of the city limits.

The authorities are saying that Wagner is not a suspect, which makes the whole question of reopening the investigation under these circumstances - the ship captain's claim that he lied about an argument between Wagner and Wood - peculiar to say the least.
That is my thought, why are the detectives playing along except to get on Entertainment Tonight themselves? It is either another reality show pitch or they suspect Robert Wagner or Christopher Walken.

Knock on wood, it's a stare off. Who'll blink first? Ve have vays of making you talk. Defenately the captain is blinking at break neck speeds. What? A new boat, and money? How much money? More money than you've ever seen, and fame, more fame than a ship's captain has ever seen. His answer is a definative yes and no. I was drunk. Wagner - Can you prove that I pushed her? The gay thing makes it even funnier. Oh, Robert, How could you!? C'mon, it was nothing. It was just a one time thing. We were experimenting. The man is obviously a flake. Thanks alot, Rob, I'll remember that. A pushing match obviously ensued.
Chris - Robert, you know I love you, you know I've always loved you ever since I saw you on Hart to Hart. You had the perfect wife and the perfect life and a paid butler but it's got to end. we can't go on like this.

What are you talking about? Nothing happened. It's all in your mind. You're a moron.
Robert you're getting me angry now. I don't like to get upset but..

Hey, maybe Walken's the suspect...just on general creepiness alone. ;)

All this reminds me of the sick joke making the rounds at the time:

Q. What kind of wood doesn't float.
A. Natalie Wood.
