It's funny how the internet is evolving.

On you have a discussion forum on everybody where people are posting phone numbers and personal attacks randomly.

On you have a video chat forum where people trade video messages but has devolved into 90% naked men jerking off.

What other shocking sites have you seen lately?

(Tubgirl and goatse are just way too old-school. What's new?)

I think one element is the anonymity makes it a pressure valve for people who are frustrated. Another is that civility standards and PC make it less acceptable for people to say what they really think in RL so they overcompensate by behaving badly. Not that we've ever seen that here!

Another element is the anonymity that makes it safe to say what one wishes also raises the stakes - so many people are out there yawping at the top of their lungs for attention that people have to be more obnoxious than ever to stand out from the crowd.

Chatroulette is such an interesting idea, but it's SO disgusting the way people actually use it. There are some seriously strange individuals out there.
