I'm curious about Nashville, TN. What is it like there. I visited a Nashville suburb but don't remember anything other than some subdivison and a YMCA, as a kid. Where are the ideal neighborhoods. What are the fun stuff, attractions, etc I can expect to find there? What kind of culture (other than music) can I expect to find there? Thank you.

I was born in Nashville and still have relatives there. My grandparents lived in in the Belle Meade neighborhood, which was a mix of big southern mansions and modest homes (they lived in one of the modest homes). The whole area is beautiful, lots of green.
My brother and his wife live in Franklin, which is about 10 miles or so south of Nashville. Lots of rolling hills and country roads. There is a building in the old part of Franklin which still has bullet holes in it from a civil war battle.
Check out the Opryland hotel, it's huge, actually huge is an understatement.

there is no opryland any more
:(
but the city has several art museums, tons of galleries, triple a baseball,
a nfl team. and all kinds of music not just county.
summer isnt as good as it was a couple of years ago because two of the free weekly music fests are gone but there is still free music and even movies in the parks during the summer.

there are several threatres two.

as for neighborhoods it depends on what you want and price range.

"Opryland" and "The Opryland Hotel" were always two different things.

Damn, I miss that themepark. There are still ruins of the Grizzly River Rampage. WHY MUST YOU TEASE ME OH LORD!?!?!?!?!:(

Anywho, lots of stuff to check out downtown along Broadway. Country Music Hall of Fame, Printer's Alley, The Parthenon, Music Row. It all depends what you're in to but there's tons of stuff to see and do.
