Naruto Shippuden to Disney XD

If you think it's getting much worse than buying Marvel..then Disney has struck a deal with Viz Media to airing them begin next month on Disney XD.

I'm slightly worried what they're going to do to my beloved show. I suspected that they may have to edited too much violence and blood as well. To me, Viz Media has a death wish for this, because its table shouldn't have never met for this for that matter.

DISCUSS!!! This will be long night for this to come! :shifty:

whats Disney XD? new channel?
Disney seems to be really concerned with attracting the young/preteen male audience these days.

Disney XD seems to be the replacement for Toon Disney. I'm surprised Cartoon Network didn't get this, Naruto was all Toonami had for a while before it got axed.

ah... does XD actually stand for something or did they just choose those two letters b/c its used online as a grinning/eyes closed emoticon? :p

I read that CN may comepletely abandon anime(even on Adult Swim) so Disney might have seen this as a perfect opportunity to jump into that trend.

add that to the possible new superhero shows they might develop thanks to the Marvel merger & one can get an inkling of how Disney is going to reimagine this channel to boys.

XD stands for extreme, I believe.

Actually, Adult swim was supposed to have that Naruto Shippuden, so new hours between Bleach and Naruto as well. Right now, I'm very concerned of the future of the walt disney company.

EXTREME!:scream: Oh, wait it's DISNEY? nevermind.:shifty:

IMO, this is all part of Disney's long-term plans to bring in male viewers who may have left the fold in recent years. With Shippuden, Disney is going after the demographic that CN kicked to the curb in their pursuit to be more like the Disney Channel and Nick. I think we might be seeing more TV-PG shows coming to Disney XD in the future...

While I understand the fears and concerns that Shippuden will be "butchered all the hell and back" by Disney, I doubt that it will be edited any more than it would have been on CN. I think Disney knows exactly what they're getting into with Naruto and who its audience is, so any edits might be for truly excessive stuff than CN wouldn't have shown anyway. I also tend to think that Shippuden will air in the evenings with parental warnings in the same way CN does with The Clone Wars.

For some reason, I don't think we have to worry about Mickey Mouse wearing a Leaf Village headband and throwing kunai knives...

Unacceptable!!! :scream: The last thing I need is a Disneyfied version of my favorite anime.

It's still VIZ's series, they're only broadcasting it and maybe applying some minor TV edits.

What do we even need Disney for again? This series streams for free legally and unedited on the internet via about 3 different websites. :shifty:

True. I haven't had much time to check out streams on Naruto.com lately. I have 100s of episodes to catch up on. I saw maybe the first 15, but I have the official magazine that has summaries of the latest updates.
