Mysteries, UFO's, Ghost Stories, etc

Well Halloween is almost upon us, So I think it would be a good idea to list some of your favourite accounts of unexplained phenomenon

For me...

I'm fascinated by things like the Bermuda Triangle, Its occasionly come up in conversations with people, although there hasn't been a so called incident in that region since 1969, it still prompts people to avoid the area when chartering planes, planning sailing expeditions and indeed even going swimming there

One of the most fascinating explanations i've heard, is that there are minature Volcano Pockets just below the surface of the water and when these erupt, well you can do the maths, however a hole in this theory would be that theres been no confirmed wreckage found

My personal take on it, is inspired by the tv show Lost, simply put the Triangle is an area where EM Energy is particulary strong, so much so that it interferes with equipment, planes and boats go off course and could potentially end up near the North Pole, which is still largely unexplored

I also enjoyed the tv series "The Triangle", i'm not going to spoil it for those of you who haven't seen it..however their take on it suggests "Time Travel"

So lets here what everyone else has to say about Paranormal Mysteries...

For me, the most intriguing mystery of the Triangle is the dissappearence of the USS Cyclops in 1918. There were some very strange things going on aboard that ship even before it dissappeared. The captain of the ship had a mysterious background, had assumed a new identity and seemingly suffered from severe mental problems. The ship was traveling from Brazil to Baltimore with a group of prisoners aboard. It made an unscheduled stop in Barbados and took on extra provisions that it didn't need. While at Barbados the crew whispered rumors that the Captain had executed one of the prisoners. When the ship departed, it was seen sailing off in the wrong direction and the ship and its 306 members of its crew and passengers were never seen again. In addition to the bizarre behavior of the Captain, ship was endangered by engine problems and by being overloaded, so the explanation for its dissappearance is not necessarily supernatural. But its a fascinating mystery none the less. I wish someone would write a book about it.

wonder why there's nothing about any disappearances for quite awhile?.
I mean it looks quite a busy area

I was stationed at RAF Bentwaters in the 80s..

I love paranormal phenomena. I don't really believe any of it, but I do love reading about it. :mallory:

The fabulous mystery of: What Happend to the Search Function, and When Will AntonyF Have It Back Online? from a few years ago.

We got more inquiries about that then reported sighting of Bigfoot.

Funny thing about Bigfoot was that the guy that hoaxed the famous video was basically the town drunk, and every time he'd get sauced he'd brag about how he pulled a fast one over on Leonard Nimoy. The other locals were shocked it took til the mid 2000's for the rest of the country to catch on to that fact (after the guy had died) because the drunken bastard talked so much smack about it.

I loved the whole B Triangle and ghost things when i was younger, but getting older has made me very skeptical indeed, although i still love a good ghost /paranormal movie or book...just watched The Exorcist special edition with the crab walk and it was brilliant, first time i have seen this version.

I flew through the Bermuda Triangle twice when I was a little boy and my parents dragged me on vacations with them and nothing happened. I remember the pilot announcing over the intercom on one trip that we were flying through the "mysterious Bermuda Triangle" and the passengers laughed. I was terrified and kept looking out the window and all I saw were some clouds and the sea way down below us.

I once read that statistically, the Bermuda triangle has just about the same amount of disappearances as any other part of the world. It just gets alot more traffic overall.

One time when I was flying out to Minneapolis, a sudden tail wind came up and accelerated the plane for a couple of minutes. When I looked down toward the ground, I could see Dinosaurs!

if they did, he wouldnt know about it...

I wasn't personally involved, yet, a SSGT I was introduced to was, according to him, they didn't need a "flashy thing" he was simply threatened -"bullets are cheap" was one statement made to him..

It was still talked about the base while I was there..and all military personel who were stationed on base at the time were rotated back by 1986.. There was also a legend of a burning German fighter pilot ghost over at RAF Woodbridge.. East End Charlie was the nickname..

One security policeman that I knew who made a sighting report was quickly rotated back to the States for eval...

I'm a confirmed skeptic regarding so-called paranormal occurrences. As for the Bermuda Triangle, it's a completely invented mystery, created by a writer for Argosy magazine back in the 1950s. Yes, ships and aircraft do occasionally “disappear” in that area -- it's called “sinking” and “crashing.” But it doesn't happen any more frequently than in any similar-sized area of the world's oceans with a similar amount of traffic. If there were really a greater-than-average risk in that area, wouldn't insurers charge higher rates for ships and airplanes passing through there? But they don't.

The flight number wasn't 33 by any chance, was it?

Once when I was flying I looked out the window and THERE WAS SOMETHING ON THE WING OF THE PLANE!
