My thoughts on "The Buried Age"

Trek

I finished "The Buried Age" this morning and would like to thank Christopher L. Bennett for an excellent read. I gave me a real insight into Picard and his motivations. More than that it fleshed out his back story as well as those of Data, Troi and Guinan and made them feel more complete where I didn't realise they needed it. Finally there was a nice level of forshadowing with the events that we know follow this book.

All in all excellent work. I really enjoyed it.

I really ejoyed it to me it read as a loving tribue to both Baylon 5(I sorry of Christopher is dissapointed by this however the story line really reminded me of the Vorlons however I want to reeforce that it was in the best way) and Star Trek :)

I too just finished the book, and honestly, Christopher, all I can say is WOW!

Quite possibly, this is one of the most amazing Trek books ever. Is it wrong that I want no one else to ever write about Jean-Luc Picard but you? You so perfectly captured his essence and voice and made me love the character even more than I already did.

Not to mention the originality of the tale (I never even thought about some sort of relation to the Vorlons, Ariel and her species were just so much more interesting than them), and the shere scope of the book, spanning years (both in Picard's life and in the eons of galactic history) and the galaxy.

Kudos my man, you're a star.

Thank you! That's very nice to hear.

Thanks again. I am writing Picard again in Greater Than the Sum, coming next August. It's the next post-Nemesis TNG novel, and though it's an ensemble piece, it puts Picard through some pretty major stuff.
