My super-duper cheap CardBorg costume

Hello, fellow Trek artists, I finally decided to get my pretentious butt off of the CGI gig and get down into the glue & pieces with all the other hard-working Trek fans. Of course, I decided to do something that I'll probably never have the time to finish as my first project: a full-scale, lighted Borg costume... made primarily out of cardboard and paper, with Christmas lights throughout. :borg:

I decided to start working on the eyepiece, as it's the smallest, simplest part. Here's a pic:

Unfortunately, image embedding doesn't seem to want to work for me... so here's a link! Woot...

Don't scoff at me! Paper is freakin' magical. I created a Harry Potter wand out of paper, painted it, but didn't take a picture of it before I gave it to a friend.

I made a Borg costume for my son. For the eyepiece, I used an "egg cup" cut from a cardboard egg carton, painted black and with a shiny sticker on it. It fit perfectly and looked awesome, but I never got a pic because he ended up being sick on Halloween that year.

To anybody who's been watching this thread (doesn't look like very many people are), I "finished" the eyepiece and will now be moving on to the shoulders. I was lucky that my headphones broke when they did so that I could use the wire, and conveniently the cord was already black.

Of course I will be returning to this piece later to add smaller details and paint, but for the moment it is "finished".

Any chance we could get a shot of you holding it up to your eye? I'll be honest with you, I'm having a hard time making heads or tails of it.

It wasn't really a criticism, I just wanted to make sure there were people interested in his progress.
