My poor kitty!

:(

I went out of town for the weekend and left my cat several big bowls of food and water like I always do in such situations.

I got back today to find she had been locked in my roommate's bedroom the whole weekend, and she hadn't eaten or drank anything the whole time. She was whimpering as soon as I opened the door. I feel so bad right now!

Oh.. a cat! Well, I guess that makes sense. You're a man and everything. Congrats on not having an STD.

;)

Hope your pet is okay, giver her lots of cat nip to make-up for it.

Jeaze! What the flapjacks possessed your roommate to lock your poor cat in his room? :wtf: Or was it accidental?

^It better have been. Cats can die from dehydration rather easily. If someone had done that to one of my pets, he wouldn't be my roommate much longer.

Poor kitty indeed. I'm glad she's okay now. She definitely deserves some special treats.

I can sympathise, even if never had a cat. Used to look after my next-doors cats when they were on hols and was always SO glad when they got back & all the moggies were still okay.

Of course it was accidental. My roommate was out of town with me, so the cat was alone all weekend.

My roommate keeps his door closed at all times to keep the cat out. I have no idea how she even managed to get in there.

Aw, I hope your cat is okay, RoJo. I'd be beside myself if Dallie were in the same situation!

Oh, my stomach flips just reading about this. Poor sweet cat! I'm so glad she's okay. Kitties have an uncanny ability to get themselves in trouble, don't they?

Cats can actually live quite a while without food or water. My mom's cat was stuck in someone's basement for over a week and was fine.

It's yet another reason why cats are better than dogs.

Oh, dear, that poor baby. You might want to take her to vet to be sure she's not dehydrated (especially if it was really warm where you live).

They may survive, but they're sure not happy about it. I just feel bad for all the time she had to be locked in there without knowing if she was ever going to be let out. It's not a big room, and it probably got really hot in there.

That reminds me. At my fiancee's (her parents' actually) Condo, there is an atrium that opens to the roof in the middle of the unit. We let her cat (17 years old) out time to time. But last week, we had the oppressive heat and somehow someone left him in the atrium while everybody was at work. That poor old cat spent the entire day in the atrium in 100 degree heat with no water and very little shade.

The cat survived. He's a tough cookie. He was an outdoor cat when he was young back when they still lived in the suburbs. He can survive anything, and the real Finn manages to digest just about everything. I don't know what would get them in the end.

Cats are desert animals by nature and they can adapt pretty good, it doesn't mean they can't complain about it. I have two cats and they are my friends, I still miss my old cat, she was my buddy. Look out for kitty in the future.
