I'll give it an above-average. The spy stuff is still pretty meh. And doesn't make sense. Why would Alfre Woodward be willing to torture possibly-innocent people in the name of national security, yet balk at eliminating a security threat like Edward by killing him rather than taking the risk of Henry waking up in the midst of an operation?
The only explanations are: Alfre Woodward is having a torrid affair with Edward (now
that would be interesting!) or she feels guilty because Henry is the "real" personality and Edward was a product of brainwashing. (But the notion of Henry not being the real one is far more interesting, so I hope they don't go there. Henry can fight to be the "real" personality despite him being a product of brainwashing, because he's a better person that nutbag Edward - that is a much better twist.) And the sex stuff is cliched.
But the emergence of the Edward vs Henry plotthread at the end perked up my interest. I hope they don't backslide by having Edward not being the guy who murdered the doc after all. The bigger a psycho Edward is, the more this story has a chance of working after all.
As for the odds of this show's survival, may not be as dim as people assume...
it's well on the healthy side of the Renew/Canel line. It's most recent demo figure, 2.5/6, is on par with
Chuck's. I don't think NBC can afford to lose either of them at this point, especially not with
Crusoe completely flaming out and nothing much else working for them. They'll have Edward and Henry fight over the Camaro some more...
