My old job wants me back.

This is so silly. I quit TGI Fridays 2 months ago, and then I moved 2.5 hours away for a new job.

They are still trying to get me to come back. My supervisor seriously asked me if I wanted to drive out and work tonight and then come out and work next Saturday.

They have never done this with anyone before. I never realized how valued I was until now. It's a pretty awesome feeling. I might plan a trip for next weekend and be the guest bartender on Saturday. My weekends have been pretty boring since I moved. Could be fun!

If you do it, milk it for all its worth. Expenses, triple pay, choice of chicks to take home, etc, etc.

You know. The usual contract niceties... :D

I like the way Holdfast thinks.

Should be fun for a triumphant guest-return. Show how it's done.

I wish.

I might just do it for the fun of it. It's just one shift, and I could use the rest of the weekend to hang out with my friends. And hey, a little extra spending money is never a bad thing.

I owe it all to The Prince.

(Purple Rain is just inspirational......)

Yeah. On a serious note, it really does sound like fun. Just don't let yourself get talked back into it full-time unless you really DO negotiate yourself a seriously better deal.

Oh, don't worry. I'm not planning to commute 2.5 hours (one way) just to bartend at a chain restaurant.

And unfortunately, due to lots of fun corporate things, they couldn't give me a better deal even if they wanted to. I mean, at best they could buy me dinner that night.

What I really meant, is don't let yourself get talked into moving back "home" unless they upped their deal. I've known people who've done this - left a job, moved away, then a few months later move back again and into more or less the same job as before. Sometimes with a better package, but sometimes with more or less the same perks as before.

Ah, sure, I gotcha.

I have no plans to return. For started, the cost of breaking my current lease would just not be worth it. A guest return will be fun, but I can't see myself working there full-time ever again.

Yeah, it sounds like while your current place isn't the best, you are doing what you want to do with your life and that is important IMO.

Though I can share the urge to want to go back to where all of your old friends are.

Something like this would never happen to me. Mostly because, of the four jobs I've had I was fired from three, and the forth I didn't exactly go about things the right way (i.e.: I said "I'm tired of your bullshit. Fuck you, I quit" to the guy that was sort of my boss.) So, even if they did need me, they'd find some other way to manage because they wouldn't want to give me the satisfaction of giving me the idea that I'm more than a worthless piece of shit.

Although, on the off-chance that a former job did call me back, the only reason I wouldn't say "no, and go fuck yourself" is because I'm on unemployment right now, and doing do would probably cause me to lose that money.

Lucky you, I thought I was going to get back with a job I quit six months ago...not happening...even when they said they would last week.

I can't get one job and you got two wanting you!:angryrazz:

Oh and I hate TGIF because the one time in my life i stopped being socially phobic for five seconds and asked the waitress for her number she blew me off by giving me a fake one.:angryrazz::angryrazz:

Yeah...that's because that's awkward. We're there to work, not set up dates.

Actually to be completely honest I didn't ask. I said the waitress was cute and a friend of a friend asked her without my foreknowledge. I don't think I have ever asked out a woman sober.:sigh:

You just have to ask yourself if it would be worth even considering a part-time job. A 2 1/2-hour commute doesn't sound very appealing, but that's just me. I don't care how much money I was offered; my body probably couldn't handle the stress, but you work out and are in great shape. ;)

I'm absolutely not going back. I mean, I might this coming Saturday, but just for fun. There's no way I'm having them put me back on the schedule.

My old supervisor is now trying to tempt me to come back with Star Trek and Jager. "We can watch Star Trek on Blu-Ray on my 54" flatscreen!"

What an asshole.

Ugh, they got me to agree to 2 shifts. I'll be closing Friday night (Martina McBride concert), and I will be early out Saturday night (Holiday Pops).

This is so silly.

I also found out that had to officially terminate me a couple weeks ago, so they have to file all the re-hire paperwork just to bring me back for this weekend. They love me too much.
