My microwave is singing "Chatanuga Choochoo" ~ hallucinations anyone?

I came off some strong prescription pain killers on Monday. On Tuesday I ate nothing (well had half a tea cake), sneaked a painkiller and had a 'couple of glasses' of wine. Went to bed at 3am and from 5am vomited every couple of hours.
Tried half a sandwich at midday~ that came up pretty soon. Continued throwing up the water and lucozade until 11pm.
Could not sleep that night as had the cold-shivery sweats.

Spent Wednesday sweating and shivering in bed, ate nothing ~ grabbed a couple of hours of sleep when the 'prickling' stopped.
Went to work Thursday and nearly fainted in the kitchen.
Decided I needed sleep.

Thursday night Son had a friend staying. I felt much better and had a couple of beers to 'encourage sleep'. Went to bed leaving Man, Son and Friend up. Could not sleep.

3am Man came to bed. Son and Friend went to bed. I asked for the music to be turned down. They did so. I could still hear it. 4am I knocked on door and asked again. They denied it. Anyway... By 6am, after numberous intrusions I was shouting and swearing and offering all sorts of punishments. They still denied playing music but I 'knew' they were. Did not sleep atall.

Got to work at 9, went into the kitchen to find microwave singing 'Chatanuga Choochoo' (it also sings 'My Way') and realised I may be going a little crazy!

So I've had 4 hours sleep in 3 days and coming off a drug.

At the moment I'm hearing "Oh Pretty Baby" eminating from my son's room.

Frankly it's scaring the hell out of me ~ and Man, Son and Friend. I have apologised for my behaviour and they are understanding but worried.

Has anyone else experienced this, and how long does it last? I can't take much more Frank Sinatra :scream:

Re: My microwave is singing "Chatanuga Choochoo" ~ hallucinations anyo

I have experienced many hundreds of hallucinations, all voluntarily though.

;)

How long were you taking those painkillers?

Call your doctor. That's my advice.

I wouldn't mind if I could always choose the songs, although I did wonder last night why Son and Friend were playing all my favourites

Have been taking these about 3 months, but others for about 2 months before which I gave up, ironically because they made be nauseus :sigh:

Don't want to go back to doctors ~ they give you bad pills :p
But, digits, if I don't get any sleep tonight :(

There's a part in Terminator 2 where they're in the elevator at the mental hospital and Sarah Connor shoots up into the ceiling where the T-1000 is and I think I can hear the tune of "Yankee Doodle"

Ah, here it is...starting at exactly 3:00 you can hear the gunshots do "Yankee Doodle Went To Town"

The setting: K's house at 7 A.M.

K, knocking on son's and/or man's doors: Pardon me boys, is that the Chattanooga Choo-Choo?

:D

 Having seen that clip I am inspired to watch the whole film again ~ love it. Also loved Conan the Barbarian last night :klingon: "Go Arnie" :techman:

And I suppose I have to do the little shoulder shake and the accent :p:lol:

So that's why my hair is so frizzy

I am concerned but somewhat amused by your anecdote.

I've never been on pain killers for any length of time but I tend to get these really vivid waking dreams when I'm trying to get to sleep my first night sober after a bender. :shifty: Like I have trouble getting to sleep because of these really vivid images that go racing through my head.

We will climb into bed (we have a very tall bed) and Man will put his head on the pillow, kiss me on the forehead and say 'goodnight darling' ~ and go to sleep. *clicks fingers* ~ just like that!
I will then read for an hour or so, and take another hour to nod off. I understand 'sleep envy'!
But I do like the 'dozy dreams' that you get :techman:

Does your microwave take requests? Mine does!

Please go to 'officially freaked' thread.

Link to "Officially Very Freaked."

I'll close this one, since it's duplicative.
