My least favorite Cardassian is...

Who was that Cardassian that was Damar's right hand guy from Tacking into the Wind. He was kind of a dick as well, not to mention the cliched character who had trust issues.

It was Rusot, played by John Vickery, who was also Andras Hagan in TNG's "Night Terrors". Rusot was a dick, and he had it coming. But he was a good representation of the things that was wrong with Cardassian society, and Damar killing him was, I think, the one defining moment of his arc at the end... even more than starting the rebellion or the scene with Kira where he learns his family was killed or becoming a symbol for the civilian resistance.

Side note: he also played Neroon in BABYLON 5, a Minbari warrior caste character who does come off as a bit of a dick, but was honorable. My wife happened to see him as another human character and said he looked a lot like Kyle McLachlan, particularly his TWIN PEAKS days... I never really saw that until she pointed it out. I think she's right.

I disagree, because that scene with Kira, when she said 'Yeah Damar, what kind of people give those orders?' was when the penny dropped for him, when he actually realized that the Dominion was doing to Cardassia precisely what his own people had done to the Bajorans. It was the moment he went from villain to hero. He killed Russot precicely because of this new understanding.

I have always thought that myself. And he is recognizable in any role, even under heavy prosthetics, because of his very distinctive voice.

A fair point, and I agree to a point. However, believing in something and actually following through with your belief are two very different things. Sort of like what Kira said to Ziyal once about not judging people by their beliefs but their actions.

Damar killing Rusot was the first true action that backed his belief of a new Cardassia.

No votes for Entek yet? He was a major swine. And who was the guy who betrayed Damar, was that Seskal? (Or was he one of the "good ones"?)

as Cardassian's go I think being a tailor may have its down side..

"Pity. I rather liked him." - Garak, right after vaporizing Entek :guffaw: .

Seskal was not a traitor. He was definitely one of the good guys.

You may be thinking of Revok, who definitely betrayed Damar and the Rebellion.

I'd have to say Evek, he comes across as a major bully and terrorizor of colonies in the DMZ.

I don't agree. Evek, at least in his appearance on TNG, was basically a decent person who tried to do the right thing. I think he would be disgusted by what eventually happened in the DMZ.

The novelverse gave Evek quite a bit more depth. He's said to be one of the most distinguished commanders in the fleet, and a posting on his ship is the height of any Cardassian's military career.

my least favorite is rugal (from "cardassians"). the actor really just played him like a turd. sorry, but really that's the most apt way i can describe him. not sympathetic, didn't care about his plight. haaaaated rugal. the worst.
