My Facebook account was disabled for "Identity proofing"

So after 2 years away, I signed back up to facebook because family members and my GF wanted me to. This morning I open the app on my phone and I am greeted with something along the lines of "we need you to submit a photo to verify your Identity" (I have a photo on my profile) I've only had a profile for 3 days. So I send a photo...a little thingie spins....I see a quick authentication failed.....and now it says they are reviewing my picture and will get back to me. Some friends have texted me and said my name shows on their friends list but my profile is now devoid of anything. Anyone else have this problem? were you able to solve it?

Sometimes you have to go as far as sending photo ID to Facebook. Or pictures of it, at least. They don't make you actually send them a physical ID.

Just wait for them to get back to you. Your profile should be restored once FB has verified your identity.

Seems reasonable for a site that allows you to share jokes, memes and cat videos.

And some people use it as a nexus for their entire social life, so it's important enough to them to jump through those hoops.
