My daughter's first Trek art

My 8 year old daughter created her first piece of Trek fan art today. She asked me what character she should draw, and I suggested she create a captain of a starship, like in Star Trek. So far she's only seen one or two episodes of TOS and a few of the Trek kids books. She asked what color a captain wears and I told her she has the option of gold or red. The rest, including the Vulcan salute and the design and placement of the insignia, were all from her memory. She's working on the rest of her crew now, having discovered how much fun it is to come up with her own alien species. I think we'll be watching more Trek this weekend! I'll keep this thread updated with her latest work.

Hm, unfortunately your image doesn't appear to show up any longer in the thread, @Flux Capacitor. When I look at the URL you posted it only returns a note saying “URL signature expired”. Do you know what's up with that?

That actually has an endearing "spark" about it, really! I like that she depicted a three-quarter view of the head but still looking at the viewer. Many kids her age would simply depict the face straight on with a "thousand light-year gaze". This character has "life", engaging the onlooker.
