must read

Hello there,

One thing that puzzled since I started reading about star trek was how hard it was to find must read material about it. I thought it would be simpler to find a list of episodes, a background on the characters, peculiar characteristics about the Seasons and stuff like that. I've searched the forum, not a very extensive search though but still nothing poped out like here's a list of links or material one Must read.

Could anyone point me out on the right direction?

The Star Trek Compendium, recently updated by Bjo Trimble is the basic reference for the original Trek. The Star Trek Omnipedia is the comprehensive reference work.
