music you want to listen to as you loose your sanity!

Granted if your going crazy you proably won't have time or the urge to turn on your radio, but the good thing is your going crazy so the music will be playing inside your head for you. My few songs would be

1 Numb by Pink Floyd

2 Insane in the Membrane=Not sure who sings this song.

3Life on Mars-David Bowie

4 Space Oddity=David Bowie

Jason

The following songs would be for going quietly insane:

"Why Me?" - Planet P

"Wouldn't It Be Good?" - Nik Kershaw

"Breathe" - Pink Floyd

Then, for murderess rampage insane:

Crystal Method's Vegas album. The whole thing.

Captain Beefheart's "Frownland", followed by the rest of Trout Mask Replica.

Trout Mask Replica.
somebody gave me that cd- wow, now that's some very weird music! I don't think I made it through the whole cd, though..

Oh, much too late to worry about that any more.
hehe, I was going to say something similar.:p

I can't resist submitting a song for this, though. She Lives in a Time of her Own by the 13th Floor Elevators. Very loopy feeling to it, but a great song.
Judging by what happened to Roky Erickson, it's probably a good choice.
He's back playing gigs here and there now. So I guess he's stabilized which is great.

Pink Floyd sure is getting mentioned a lot in this thread. I can understand why, because much of their music deals with insanity. However, their music had the opposite effect on me. When I was a teenager going through the stress and changes that all teenagers go through, I listened to Pink Floyd to relax me and make me feel as if I were regaining my sanity. Without them my formative years would have been much tougher. :)

I Wanna Be Well - the Ramones

I Need a Lover That Won't Drive Me Crazy - John Cougar Mellancamp

Pretty much anything by Roky Erickson

Trout Mask Replica.

Trout Mask is really not for listening to just any time, but every now and then -- say, after having barely survived a really crappy and life-sapping day -- it's just the perfect thing. Sort of cathartic, in a way. :)
