Hey guys if you haven't heard there will be 2 Star Trek videogame music scores released next month within a $150. boxed set:

disc 14 presents Jones’s scores to the Interplay computer games Starfleet Academy (1997) and Starfleet Command (1999).
Ron Jones’s music from Star Trek: The Next Generation

It's kind of cool to see that even though the Trek videogames are not considered canon that the music scores for these two game from one of the main composers of TNG are being presented alongside TNG's scores thus elevating the importance of music scores of the games themselves.

thanks doubleohfive for this thread:
New, 14-disc Ron Jones TNG soundtrack box set!

Interesting. These were really nice scores, as I recall - very Trek-ish, not surprising given that they were composed by Ron Jones.

I'm really tempted to order the box set, but the price is probably just too steep for me to justify. :(

Thanks for the shoutout, jeffriestube8!

With regard to the pricetag, yeah it's a bit steep ... but let's also remember that this set will contain the scores for the two video games, and forty episodes of the show spread across fourteen discs. Being that your average CD usually costs between 12-15 dollars, this only amounts to about ten bucks per disc. I don't think that's all too unreasonable in the final analysis.

I still have the Soundtrack CD that came with SFA. Very well done...I listen to it from time to time.

Yeah, but you have to consider that we'd be blowing $150 all at once instead of $15 every couple of weeks.

It would be nice if a year or two from now they'd release it on iTunes or something.
