one of my favorite Star Trek authors is Margaret Wander Bonanno. I have her "Dwellers in the Crucible" and "Strangers From the Sky."
I was surfing the net and found her other book "Probe." What I didn't remember, blame my Swiss cheese memory and the years that have passed, is that the book that Pocket released was not her original story. It seem that Simon and Schuster has given Star Trek authors problems. Anyway Ms. Bonanno's original story is "Music of the Spheres." But it was available online only. Does anyone have a copy? I would love to own that story. If you go to the author's website she has said that fans are free to share the story with each other as long as no one is trying to sell the story.
I am currently reading another story that Pocket has pulled from their line up. "The Killing Time." By Della Van Hise. It's one of my favorite stories, it had been pulled when Gene Roddenberry had some objections to its content and it was reprinted. Now I don't see it at all in the collection of Star Trek books. I think it's sad.
