Today is the 50th anniversary of the Clear Lake, Iowa plane crash that killed pioneer rockers Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and JP "Big Bopper" Richardson.

I can't help but think what the two young artists would have contributed to music history if they had lived.

well holly definatly contributed a lot ..... he was a major influence on the beatles. he even influenced the name of their band . his band was the "crickets"!
